Primary and Middle School Program
Nearly 7,000 students participate annually in this program of half-day workshops which include an interactive, introduction to aviation through a variety of workshops, including time in a computer flight simulator. The program travels to schools outside the Denver Metro area. Schools within the metro area travel to the Wings Over the Rockies Museum. The museum and its facilities create an ideal learning setting.
Students spent time at each "station*", learning with an instructor through demos, videos, and hands-on activities. The stations could include: Meteorology, Aviation History, Aeronautical Charts, Airplanes and the Theory of Flight, Gliders and Rocketry, Balloons/Lighter-than-Aircraft, Instruments and Navigation; and Airports.
*Compliant with Colorado standards of Math, Science and Social Studies.
